Detailed 7 Day Uganda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Pick Up at Kihihi Airstrip, Gorilla Trekking and Community Visit

Destination: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Meals: Lunch and dinner, depending on arrival time
Accommodation: Lodge near your allocated trekking sector
Your safari begins with a pick up at Kihihi Airstrip by your Kalesh Safari and Tours Uganda driver guide. Travel towards your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, famous for its endangered mountain gorillas.
If your flight arrives early and your permit is booked for this day, proceed to the gorilla trekking briefing. Rangers explain the trekking rules before guiding visitors into the forest to search for a habituated gorilla family.
The trek may take several hours because gorillas move freely through the rainforest. Once you find them, follow ranger instructions and enjoy the permitted viewing period.
Later, enjoy a community visit to learn about local traditions, crafts and everyday life. Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Important: Gorilla trekking on arrival day is possible only when your flight, permit date and trekking sector allow it. Otherwise, schedule trekking for Day 2.
Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Through Ishasha

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Lodge in or near Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, travel towards Queen Elizabeth National Park through the scenic Ishasha sector. The journey reveals beautiful countryside, traditional homesteads and changing landscapes.
Ishasha is famous for its tree climbing lions. During a game drive, search for lions resting in fig trees, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob and other wildlife.
Although sightings cannot be guaranteed, the sector provides an exciting opportunity to explore Uganda’s savannah ecosystem.
Enjoy lunch during the journey before continuing to your lodge. After check in, relax and enjoy dinner while preparing for the next stage of your adventure.
Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Lodge or safari camp near Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, depart for Murchison Falls National Park. This is a long driving day, so an early start is recommended.
Enjoy views of rural Uganda, local trading centres and beautiful countryside along the way. Your driver-guide can arrange suitable comfort stops and a lunch break.
Murchison Falls National Park is known for its savannah wildlife, riverine forests and the powerful waterfall where the Nile passes through a narrow gorge.
On arrival, check in at your accommodation and relax. Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy the surrounding scenery before dinner.
Rest well for the following day’s game drive and boat cruise.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Lodge or safari camp near Murchison Falls National Park
Start your morning with breakfast before heading into the park for a guided game drive.
Search for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kob and other wildlife. With luck, you may also spot lions or leopards. Your guide will explain animal behaviour and the importance of wildlife conservation.
Return to your lodge for lunch or carry a packed meal, depending on the schedule.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile. Look for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous bird species along the riverbanks.
The cruise offers excellent photography opportunities and beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Continue Towards Entebbe

Meals: Breakfast and lunch, with dinner depending on the overnight arrangement
Lodge or hotel confirmed in your final itinerary
Accommodation: After breakfast, leave Murchison Falls National Park and travel towards Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
On arrival, meet the sanctuary guides for a briefing before beginning the guided rhino-tracking experience. Learn about southern white rhinos, their behaviour and conservation efforts to protect them.
Follow the guides’ instructions and maintain the required distance from the animals. The experience offers a valuable opportunity to understand Uganda’s rhino conservation programme.
After tracking, enjoy lunch and continue towards your confirmed overnight location. Depending on the schedule, accommodation may be near Ziwa sanctuary or farther along the route towards Entebbe.
Day 6: Transfer to Entebbe and Relaxation
Meals: Breakfast and other meals according to your package
Accommodation: Hotel in Entebbe
Enjoy breakfast before continuing towards Entebbe, depending on your overnight location.
This day provides time to relax after several days of wildlife activities and long road journeys.
Depending on your interests and arrival time, optional sightseeing or local shopping may be arranged at an additional cost.
Check in at your Entebbe hotel and prepare for the following day’s birdwatching excursion.
Day 7: Mabamba Swamp Shoebill Excursion and Departure

Meals: Breakfast and lunch, depending on departure time
Accommodation: No overnight stay unless requested
After breakfast, travel to Mabamba Swamp for a guided birdwatching excursion.
Mabamba is a renowned wetland on Lake Victoria and is famous for the rare shoebill stork. Explore suitable wetland channels by boat with a local guide.
Watch for shoebills and other wetland birds while enjoying the peaceful scenery. Sightings depend on weather, season and bird movements.
After the excursion, return to Entebbe for your airport transfer or agreed drop off.
